I am excited to be supporting Income Eco Run 2017 with a 21.1KM and 10KM training programme to help you cross the finishing line on 30 April 2017. The programme complements training sessions provided by the Official Pacers from Running Department.
Before you jump straight into the programme, I need you to understand that it is designed as a general guideline for those who are attempting the 21.1KM or 10KM on race day. The programme is flexible enough for you to adjust the running schedule to fit your individual capabilities. But please bear in mind that the workouts on Wednesday and the long easy runs on Saturday are essential.
If you are a beginner and looking for something easier to follow, you can consider skipping or replacing the easy runs with rest or cross training, such as swimming and cycling. Ultimately, it is important that you to listen to your body and ensure that you have sufficient rest.
Remember to also make good use of the Official Pacers and their training sessions to help you prepare for race day. Group running has been proven to reduce your perceived effort of exertion - this means you push harder while feeling more relaxed. Thus, running in a group is a sure way to improve in your next race!
Lastly, be sure to follow Income Eco Run's Official Strava Club to share your training workouts with me and the team. Have fun following the training programme!
